3D Model Concepts
Utility Pole

Beginning of Developing Stage
I began modelling a Japanese inspired utility pole in 3DS Max for my VR Psychological Horror game which is being created in Unreal Engine 4. This is my first time 3D modelling game props so I decided to use YouTube time-lapses to teach myself.

Progression
I have added many structures and details to the utility pole including some electrical bolts, wires and bolts.

Final Concept
This is the final 3D concept, I have not yet added textures to the model as of yet. This model will be used within the game world of my VR game.
Along the way, I learned the many industry skills, techniques and tools within 3DS Max such as how to extrude, bevel and inset to be able to create detailed, realistic 3D models.
Vending Machine

Simple Box
With the assistance of a YouTube time-lapse tutorial, I began with a simple box to model in 3DS Max to sculpt a vending machine which will be placed within my Japanese themed VR game.

Creating the Trays
At this stage, I had created the trays, button and panel using the bevel, extrude and swift loop tools. The concept is starting to look a lot more like a vending machine compared to how I started.

Final Concept
This is the final concept design, there are no textures added at this stage. However, I did add a clear glass screen over the front face of the vending machine using the Slate Material Editor for a realistic effect.
Recycling Bin
Starting with the Basics
Beginning with a box, I used the swift loop tool to cut half of the box. As shown in the screenshot, I used the bevel tool to manipulate the shape of the box.

Extruding the Handles
Here, I have created small handles which the bin lid will be connected to. To create these handles, I sliced two rectangular shapes into the bin using the swift loop tool. I then selected the faces (in red) and proceeded to extrude them. Once extruded, I rotated the selected face.
Final Concept
This is the final design of the recycling bin which will be found behind many bars and bistros within the Japanese alleyway. I plan to add some garbage bags overloading the bin which is why the lid is kept open. To create the indents, I used the bevel and extrude tools to manipulate the rectangular shape.

UV Unwrapping
Here is a short slideshow of how I unwrapped the UVs of the recycling bin model ready to be exported into Quixel Mixer for texturing.

Spaceship 3D Prototype
During my first year of college, I was tasked to create a 3D model of a spaceship interior. I used many of the industry standard tools in 3DS Max and used Unreal Engine to create the video. My aim was to create an abandoned spaceship with broken flooring, left behind uniforms and a warning written on the monitor.
Texturing
To create the texture maps for the 3D models, I used Photoshop's add-on, Quixel Suite and 3DS Max. Once I had created the textures, I exported them to Unreal Engine 4 to experiment with different warm, cold and directional lighting.
